Dear Colleagues
A group of immune monitoring experts (Helen McGuire, Natalie Smith, Vikas Singh, Robin Walsh, Karen Quadrini, Sylvia Janetzki) are developing a tutorial highlighting the current best practices when working with PBMCs for phenotyping and functional assays for presentation at this year’s CYTO Conference (https://www.cytoconference.org/index.html). The plan is to use this tutorial/workshop to establish a foundation for future guidance documents and standardization within the field.
A survey was established to collect information within the live cell research community, to help identify the current best practices across laboratories, as well as defining areas that require additional guidance or research to help advance the field. If you work with PBMC and are interested in contributing to the standardization and best practices for PBMC processing, your assistance in filling out the survey will be greatly appreciated. Given the goal of developing future guidance documents, please don’t hesitate to reach out to anyone on the committee if you would like to get more involved in the discussion or are interested in the outcomes from the survey and/or workshop.
